Vega bridges the gap between diplomas and honours degrees

As a brand of the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), Vega School of Brand Leadership (Vega) has announced it will accept mid-year intakes for The IIE 18-month part-time Advanced Diploma in Brand Innovation (ADBI) programme. Once completed, the diploma will allow students who wish to pursue an honours programme through Vega the opportunity to do so, as the ADBI programme will credit students with the necessary entry requirements needed for an honours degree.

“While diplomas can successfully help you to enter the world of work, they do not always offer you entry to post-graduate programmes. The youth understand the importance of furthering their tertiary education, but the disappointment of not achieving a degree entry on their matric certificate, can leave these school leavers despondent and confused about where to turn,” says Michele Venter-Davies, Head of Honours at Vega.

“We recognise that not all students want to stop studying at diploma or certificate level and because post-graduate programmes are so desirable and enhance both career and earning opportunities, we created the Advanced Diploma in Brand Innovation which helps diploma students to gain the necessary degree level credits to enter our honours programmes.”

The ADBI is perfect for these students as it serves as an official bridging course granting them access to complete an honours degree of their choice at Vega. As one of South Africa’s leading education institutions, Vega has a variety of IIE degree and honours programmes that students can register for on successful completion of the Advanced Diploma in Brand Innovation.

Some of the honours degree programmes that the Advanced Diploma provides a solid foundation for are BCom Honours in Strategic Brand Innovation and a BA Honours in Strategic Brand Communication.

“We are committed to offering courses that will train, prepare and inspire students to solve 21st century business and brand challenges, and with the mid-year intake we are opening doors for a wider brand savvy community to pursue brand career options or improve on their current qualifications,” says Nicky Stanley, marketing manager.

“We trust this bridging opportunity will give prospective students, who missed the opportunity to register directly for a degree programme and are therefore generally excluded from honours programmes, an alternative route to an honours programme.  We are excited to give more potential brand thinkers a way to advance to post-graduate level in this exciting and dynamic profession,” concludes Stanley.

If you are ready to take the next step in furthering your career, would like to add to your stable of qualifications or want to be part of a generation of new brand thinkers, Vega is ready to lead the way.
