Entries are starting to pour in for the upcoming 42.2km JG Zuma Marathon and fun run which takes place on Sunday, April 17th.
The race will start at 6am from Mpolweni, Albert Falls and will finish at Greytown’s King Edward Park.
The cut off time will occur promptly at 11.30am as the prize giving is earmarked to take place at 12 noon.
In order to qualify for this event there are a number of factors to take into consideration when competing in the 42.2km marathon. One needs to be medically fit and at least 20 years of age and older on race day. Entrants need to also purchase a Champion Chip at R130 in order to qualify in order to be timed, with no exceptions.
For entrants who have transportation issues, the race organisers have made arrangements for a shuttle service to be available on race day which will be running at 3.45am and 4.30am only from the King Edward Park to the start!
With over R280 000 worth of cash prizes up for grabs for the respective age group categories & teams mentioned on the entry form, entrants need to register and get their entries in before Friday, April 8th at a cost of R150.
To enter log onto www.jgzumamarathon.co.za and for those without internet access, you can collect entry forms from the following outlets: Kings Park Athletics Stadium, Durban Runner Sports Shop, Poobie Naidoo (PMB), ChampionChip Africa offices or at the Umshwathi and Umvoti Municipality offices.

All finishers within the cut-off time will receive a bronze medals, cap or t-shirts and the top 10 in all age categories will receive a gold medal, cap and a t-shirt.
Remember, this event is strictly run in accordance with the rules of the IAAF, ASA and KZN Athletics. Once you have entered, please ensure that you have read and understood all the event rules and regulations as well as adhere to all race rules and race marshals’ on race day.
