Spies joins the management team at ID Logistics South Africa
Johannesburg – In line with their approach for sustainable development, ID Logistics, one of the leaders in contract logistics, has announced the appointment of Friedel Spies as the new Business Development Director for ID Logistics South Africa as of 1 April 2016.
Spies brings a wealth of experience in logistics and supply chain management, having worked in the industry for over a decade. Throughout his career, he has focused on business development, customer and commercial roles, dealing with many of the leading multi-national organisations in the industry.
Prior to joining ID Logistics, Spies worked in various roles, from Customer to Operations Director for one of the leading Logistics Service Providers in warehousing and distribution within the Southern African market.
“We are excited that Spies has joined the business at a time when we are exploring new markets and expanding our services into South Africa, following the establishment of the company in South Africa during 2012,” says Etienne Juillard, Managing Director at ID Logistics.
Spies says that he was immediately attracted to ID Logistics, “I was immediately drawn by its different service offerings, and its impressive story line. Not many companies in this industry can claim what this group has achieved globally in less than 15 years. Its global success and exposure into other areas of supply chain means that there are a lot of exciting opportunities,” he says.

Since joining the company, I have seen these benefits on a local level where through global collaboration, we recently launched our double decker truck solution for one of our customers,” concludes Spies.
