Soweto, SA – Leading hair care brand, Sofn’free, supported this year’s exciting and interactive “Jozi FM Soweto Walk For Life”—an initiative aimed at promoting healthy living, social cohesion and raising funds for the annual Nelson Mandela Day Project, which was held at the Nike Stadium in Pimville, Soweto, yesterday (Mothers’ Day).
“Sofn’free strongly shares the passion of healthy living. By keeping the nation looking beautiful and elegant with our products, we also want to motivate our communities to also adopt active, healthy lifestyles. This initiative is a great opportunity to grow and nurture our running and walking communities, as it is impactful and beneficial for both the young and old. We are pleased to have supported this wonderful platform,” stated Sofnfree Technical Educator for Gauteng South, Bob Nembilwi.
Many children were elated as they were handed Sofn’free n’ Pretty Avo and Honey product hampers at the kiddies entertainment area, much to their delight. Their smiles became a special highlight, as their mothers received pampering at the fitting ‘Mother’s Day Pamper Lounge’ after the long walks.
Having commenced at 8am with about 6000 participants taking part, the event featured distance walks from 4km to 8km, a kiddies dash and other activities such as aerobics. Well attended, the event is carving its place as a fitness event to look forward to every year.
“We look forward to championing more initiatives that positively impact communities in South Africa, and we will continue to encourage holistic healthy living,” said Nembilwi.
