Cape Town – South Africa’s newest obstacle course race, The Grind has secured a sponsorship deal with Rush – one of the leading trampoline park brands in the world and Ice Blast – South Africa’s first fizzy iced crystal drink.
Announcing the new sponsorship arrangement, The Grind Founder, Mat Barlett, said he was thrilled that Rush had agreed to team up with the event to bring the very best obstacles for their athletes and a great viewing experience for spectators. “When we started rolling out our business plan I earmarked Rush as one of the companies that we would like to work with, and today it came to fruition. Jonathan has built an amazing business and we are very excited to grow alongside an established brand like Rush”.
The Grind’s inaugural event is expected to draw over 1500 racers competing on a custom-designed 5km and 8km obstacle course with up to 30 obstacles, providing racers with the ultimate test of strength, conditioning and endurance. The Grind will feature both Elite and Standard batches. Competitors entering the Elite category run first thing in the morning to ensure a clear, course. Elite racers must complete every obstacle with the top five men and women taking home prize money.
Jonathan Goosen, Rush’s Managing Director says that the partnership will compliment both brands as Grind athletes can make use of Rush to keep fit while training for their next OCR.
