By in Art, Culture, Entertainment on November 22, 2016

This year’s Nederburg Picnic Pops sunset concert promises to be yet another perfect outing for the whole family. Taking place at Nederburg on Saturday 26 November, young and old can once again experience outstanding performances of popular music favourites while enjoying a magical sunset picnic on the lawns of the historic wine farm in Paarl.

The list of performers reads like a who’s who of top young talent. Afrikaans singer, Refentse Morake, whose meteoric rise to fame made him a household name overnight, will appear as guest artist. Accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Refentse will be joined on stage by, amongst others, the Kenmere Primary School Choir, classical soprano Palesa Malieloa, jazz singer Austin-Lee Jacobs, young classical pianist Qden Blaauw and singer Dirja Lekas, as well as The Grey violin duo, featuring Donné de Kock and Ellani de Jager. The orchestra and soloists will be conducted by Stefan Lombard while RSG-presenter, Sue Pyler, appears as MC.

The annual Nederburg Picnic Pops is fast becoming synonymous with bringing the audience some of the best up-and-coming talents in our country. And with the young artists appearing, this year’s concert is no exception. It mainly features winners of important national and local music competitions which focus on different music performance genres.
