North West University: Campus Faculty of Education Hosts Research Seminar

North West University Mafikeng CampusFaculty of Education recently held a research seminar on the 12 May 2016 with the theme “An online study abroad exchange between candidates in the United States and South Africa”.

The research seminar facilitated by presenters Prof Benita R. Brooksfounding editor for READ an online Journal for literacy educators, Prof Nancy K Votteler, Associate professor in the department of language, literacy and special populations at Sam Houston State University and Prof Debra PPrice, Associate Dean for research and graduate programs .All of the facilitators presenting at the seminar were from Sam Houston State university.

The research seminar took place following a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signage between the Mafikeng campus faculty of education and the visiting institution, SamHouston State University. As part of the MOU signed by both institutions, students will be able to partake in exchange program opportunities particularly those studying toward a teaching qualification.

“This is a great for students to broaden their horizons and approach towards a teaching qualification and the methodology of teaching in school and institutions of higher education”, said one of the Fcailitators.
