Free access to Limpopo Provincial Parks

POLOKWANE : Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) will give free access to identified Provincial Resorts and Parks from the 12th – 16th September 2016 as part of tourism month celebration, the identified Parks and Resorts are Nwanedi, Nylsvley, Lekgalameetse, Doorndraai, Rust de Winter, Mokolo Dam, Schuinsdraai and Makuya.

The Wildlife Mahala Week dates were chosen deliberately to coincide with the South African National Parks Week as it has been the case over the years to give people a wider tourism offering, the participating National Parks in Limpopo are Kruger National Park, Mapungubwe World Heritage Site and Marakele National Park.

“The main objectives of conducting the Wildlife Mahala week is firstly to get people to acquaint themselves with what the local Parks and Resorts have to offer, secondly to create a culture of traveling and lastly to create awareness on conservation of nature,” said Fixon Hlungwane the Executive Director of LWR.

This year’s tourism month theme is “Tourism for all, universal accessibility”, the theme seeks to encourage the industry to be accessible to everybody despite gender, race, disability and age.

“Tourism Month is now in full swing and we urge everyone to take advantage of the various special packages the industry has to offer. We further urge people to take part in all activities for this month as we celebrate tourism in the province in particular and the country at large,” said Acting CEO of LTA, Ms. Lulama Tshabalala.

The official tourism month hashtags are #TourismForAll and #Golimpopo. We urge communities to upload pictures while visiting some of the parks and resorts using these hashtags.
