TLC Entertainment (DStv 135) today announced the launch of a 360 brand campaign set to inspire a new level of conversation on and off screen.
On Sunday, 8 May TLC Entertainment will unveil its brand-new colourful and vibrant on-air look, which along with a dynamic new logo, also includes the introduction of emojis on air to fully express the playfulness, bravery, and positivity of TLC.
At the very heart of popular culture, emojis have become part of our daily lives. Whether you are messaging friends, or posting a comment on social media, they are the modern go-to tool to express emotions in as few characters as possible. Now, TLC is harnessing the power of this social phenomenon with its own library of emojis to showcase the diversity of its content and real-life characters like never before.
Off screen, social media will play a particularly important role in the campaign, with TLC fans being invited to express their feelings in a fun way, connecting with emotional moments from TLC’s key shows through a custom online Meme Generator located on the channel’s brand new African website www.TLCAfrica.tv, which is set to launch on Sunday, 8 May in line with the refresh.

To coincide with the refresh, viewers can look forward to a raft of must-see programme premieres this May guaranteed to provoke a range of emotions. New York’s most famous baker Buddy Valastro returns in Cake Boss, whipping up amazing cake creations in the eighth season of this global hit franchise. Brand new weight-loss show with a twist, Fat Chance follows eight individuals each on a quest to lose weight and find love. My Extreme Excess Skin sees individuals undergo extensive surgery to remove up to 50-pounds of excess skin, and lastly, Two In A Million is the heart-warming new series which brings together two inspirational individuals who share the same rare medical condition.
