Non-profit organization Celebs 4 Change Foundation to show the TLC Children’s Home in Eikenhof, West of Johannesburg some love after the home was subjected to two traumatic incidents in less than a month.
Some of the children and stuff members were kidnapped by robbers this past week. Though there were no fatalities, the stuff and children at the home are still traumatized by the incident. Earlier on in the week, gunmen gained entrance into the home under false pretenses and took off with R17k that was supposed to boost the home’s supplies.
Genius Kadungure, who is theco-founder of Celebs 4 Change Foundation, says he was extremely saddened reading reports in the media about the incident.
“We just want to brighten their festive season and show them that there are people out there who care about them especially during this season of giving, says Genius.
Ms Shally says she hopes to galvanize a number of A-list Celebs and Top Entrepreneurs for this worthy cause and says others celebrities are welcome to join in on this kind gesture. “Our mission is to show children that love exists and we hope after spending time with them at Christmas party, it will help them move on from the horrible experiences they went through” .
Some employees at Forbes Africa came together with Celebs for Change foundation and are filling up shoe boxes with gifts to be given to the kids at the Christmas party, British International College has joined forces with the foundation as well. The Christmas party will be held at Ernest Ullmann Park Recreation Centre on the 8th of December.
