Capricorn FM, the largest independent commercial radio station also known as Limpopo’s hottest frequency will announced changes of its on-air line-up effective Monday, 4 April 2016. The changes are informed by audience’s needs for more infotainment as the result the station decided to beef up the line up.
The Prime time shows will remain as it is with Nduduzo “Complexion” Mathambo and Mpho Mashita hosts of The Breakfast Drive Show (weekdays 06:00 to 09:00), Hlekani Shikwambana, host of The Perfect Cuddle Show (weekdays 09:00 to Noon), Keneilwe “Kenzy” Mohapi, host of The Prime Adventure Show (weekdays Noon to 15:00), and Maxwell Modiba and Thato Tseke, hosts of The Afternoon Drive Show (weekdays 15:00 to 18:00) will continue with their current shows.
The key changes include phasing out The Recline show (Mondays to Thursdays from 18:00 to 21:00) and moving the host Prudence Mabasa to Soul Connection (weekdays Midnight to 03:00).
Recent events reinforced the realisation that listeners are interested in current affairs; they are debating what’s happening in the country and grappling with what it means for their future. The change means that Capricorn FM Talk will now air for two hours from 18:00 to 20:00 (Mondays to Thursdays). The show will be followed by Capricorn FM Express (Sundays to Thursdays from 20:00 to Midnight), hosted by Mr Black Moakamedi, and Sunrise Delight (weekdays 03:00 to 06:00), hosted by Mothusi Makosholo.
On the weekends, Itumeleng Banda has been moved from Weekend Jumpstart (Saturdays and Sundays from 03:00 to 06:00) to Midnite Groove (Saturdays and Sundays from Midnight to 03:00) and Alleta Mathumba from Soul Connections (weekdays Midnight to 03:00) to Weekend Jumpstart (Saturdays to Sundays from 03:00 to 06:00).
The station welcomes new faces, Nhlamulo Hlugwani who will be hosting Weekend Fix (Saturdays and Sundays from 06:00 to 09:00) and Shane Motala who will be hosting Afterglow (Sundays from 18:00 to 21:00).
Keabetswe Motlokwa, sports presenter with her co-host Louis Pereira will host Capricorn FM Connection (Saturdays from 15:00 to 18:00) and Clayson Monyela, will now only host the Sunday Capricorn FM Connection show.
The change also means that the station says farewell to Pete Radali, presenter of Weekend Fix, who will be now presenting at sister station Power FM. Sechaba Monyakeni, who was presenting the Midnite Groove show (Saturdays and Sundays from Midnight to 03:00) will now focus on the station’s production.
