Brand Union bolsters its client service team

In the month of September, a month that is synonymous with new beginnings, Brand Union Johannesburg welcomes two new recruits; Linda Botes as Client Service Director and Busisiwe (Busi) Tshabalala, Account Director.

Boasting extensive experience both on agency and client side, Linda has built up her career across all aspects of advertising and marketing including the development of marketing plans, managing internal staff campaigns, driving external advertising (radio, television, cinema, online and print) and marketing campaigns, direct marketing campaigns, sponsorships, events and exhibitions.

Mathew Weiss, Managing Director of Brand Union Africa commented on the appointment saying, “Linda’s key strength is her ability to co-ordinate and project manage large integrated advertising campaigns between a number of different agencies. Having worked as a Business Unit Director at TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris for many years and as Head: Brand Marketing, Corporate and Investment Banking and Business Banking for Standard Bank, Linda promises to be a valuable asset as the leader of our Joburg client service team.”

Linda will run Tiger Brands and Wasteman Holdings/Averda, while providing oversight across the agency’s portfolio of clients. She will also sit on ManCo.

Busi Tshabalala moved up from Cape Town, leaving her role as Account Director at Society/King James Group to join Brand Union Johannesburg. Busi has also worked on both agency and client side, and has gained experience across established brands such as Santam Insurance, Burger King SA, Parmalat – Steri Stumpie and Indigo-Rimmel London SA, as well as Ster-Kinekor. In her new role at Brand Union, she will look after the Vodacom business.

Brand Union welcomes these new recruits and expects that the agency clients will very quickly see the value the team will bring to build stronger, more dynamic brands.
