Braamfontein Spruit adventure trail management plan – business survey

By in Agriculture, Environment, Water on September 5, 2016

In May 2016, Next Step Consulting (NSC) was appointed by Johannesburg City Park and Zoo (JCPZ) to develop the Braamfontein Spruit Adventure Trail Management Plan.

The need for a management plan to facilitate recreational use of the Braamfontein Spruit area (the land running alongside the banks of the Braamfontein Spruit) has been increasingly highlighted over the past few years.

One of the key elements of the management plan is to understand business activity that surrounds the trail network. This includes businesses that are situated along or close to the Braamfontein Spruit (cycle shops, restaurants, pharmacies, retailers etc.) and businesses that use the Braamfontein Spruit to operate (skills coaches, dog-walking services, ice-cream and cool drink vendors etc.). This kind of information helps to paint a picture of how valuable the trail network is to the local economy, and how the resource of the trails is important to sustain many businesses.

NSC have developed an online survey to capture insights from Braamfontein Spruit businesses. The survey takes approximately five to ten minutes to complete depending on how much information participants have to share. NSC appreciates all input as it adds depth and meaning to the research and ultimately a well-rounded trail management plan.

The survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FSGHGT2

The survey will be open until close of business on the 9th of September 2016.
