Announcing the 2016 Cape Leopard Trust Fundraising Event
Following successful fundraising events for The Cape Leopard Trust hosted by Leopard’s Leap in previous years, the 2016 12th birthday event on Saturday, 20 August 2016, promises to be an even more novel and dynamic experience consisting of a luncheon with a strong sustainability message and an eclectic conservation-inspired art auction.
“The Cape Leopard Trust is on a mission to create a deeply meaningful and interactive luncheon this year, that carries a valuable sustainability message with it”, says Helen Turnbull, CEO of the Cape Leopard Trust. “An event that is unique and enjoyable, with a special twist.”
Guests at this exciting affair can expect a fabulous 4-course feast presented by the creative culinary duo of Justin Bonello and Pieter de Jager. Every ingredient – down to the last grain of salt – has been sourced from neighbourhood farms and with a focus on being inspired by the wonders around us. Local suppliers will be there on the day, sharing the farm to table journey. Complementing the luncheon and included in the ticket cost, guests will also be treated to the comprehensive collection of Leopard’s Leap wines.
A fresh take on the traditional art auction, this year’s fundraising component of the event, features a number of free standing wooden leopard sculptures decorated by carefully selected artists, conservationists and celebrities, such as internationally recognised conservationist, Dame Jane Goodall, renowned artists Beezy Bailey and Francine Greenblatt, and the darling of Darling, upstanding citizen, Tannie Evita Bezuidenhout. These pieces are once in a lifetime unique art pieces that won’t be found anywhere else.
“Being a proud sponsor of the Cape Leopard Trust since its inception, Leopard’s Leap is delighted to host this 12th birthday celebration and wishes them exceptional success with both the event and in raising funds for such a wonderful cause”, says CEO Hein Koegelenberg.
The ticket price of of R1 250 per person guarantees entry to the event, which includes lunch with perfectly paired Leopard’s Leap wines, all entertainment and a donation. All proceeds from the event will contribute towards a new field vehicle.
