AKA to perform at the BET Experience Fan Fest 2016 in LA

Johannesburg, 02 June 2016: BET Africa (DStv channel 129) has revealed that South African hip hop star and BET Award 2016 nominee AKA will perform at the BET Experience Fan Fest in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Free to all attendees, the BET Experience Fan Fest provides fun activations and engaging activities for all ages on Saturday 25 June and Sunday 26 June 2016.

During the 2-day programme, AKA will be performing on the same stage as heavy hitters and hot new artists such as Desiigner, Fat Joe & Remy Ma, O.T. Genasis, Kevin Gates, Rae Sremmurd, Dreezy, Bibi Bourelly, BJ the Chicago Kid, Ro James, Dreezy, Unlocking the Truth, Jay Watts, Tye Tribbett, Tasha Cobbs, Devon Franklin and Tim Downman Jr. Up-and-coming artists Kodie Shane, Jacquees, Chloe x Halle, Jovanie, Unlocking the Truth: M&G, Detroit Che and Candice Boyd will be taking the stage at the Coca-Cola® Music Studio.

A hot ticket at the Fan Fest is always the Celebrity Basketball Game, which this year includes Snoop Dogg, Nick Cannon, Omarion, Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, The Game, Desiigner and “Black-ish” stars Miles Brown and Marsai Martin among the players, alongside ESPN guest announcers Jemele Hill and Baron Davis. American actor and comedian Deon Cole will join Jemele and Baron to judge the annual celebrity Slam Dunk contest, with the two stacked teams being led by comedian Mike Epps, Big Boy and J Cruz. Additional talent participating in the game include O.T. Genasis, Silento, Lecrae, Syd the Kyd (The Internet), Doug Christie, Guy Gupuy, Marcellus Wiley, Kenny Dobbs, Lil Durk, Rotimi, Erica Ash and Young Greatness.

The BET Experience and Fan Fest culminate in the 2016 “BET Awards“, taking place at Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, on Sunday 26 June, and premiering across Africa on BET (DStv channel 129) on Tuesday 28 June at 19:00 CAT.
